Welcome To Heaven Sent Hedgehogs
We are a small scale
breeder located near Colorado Springs at the base of Pikes Peak. We had first
intended to only have one hedgehog, but the love for Mr. Paco was enough
to share with many others, so we added Miss Daisy. The numbers grew from
there. Each time we would say, "This is enough, no more." Then another would
come along and we would open our hearts and home to one more.Neither had we intended to be breeders, but our loss of Cinca led us to other breeders who have been so helpful in teaching us how to raise these fantastic animals to share with people looking for a unique comfort animal. We breed two females concurrently so that there is another nursing mother available in case there is a problem. This has worked very well for us when we have needed to play musical babies. We begin handling the babies as soon as the mother allows us, which is often within a few days.
We provide babies who are registered in the International Hedgehog Association Registry. They have excellent lineage, quality color and wonderful temperaments. They are raised with sounds of people, TV, music, washer/dryer and vacuums so they are less fearful of noises as adults.
Our babies have gone into some very interesting homes which include an advertising agency as their mascot, the Denver Zoo, college dorms and children's classrooms. We assist the new owner in choosing the perfect hedgehog based on the personalities and environment. Often hedgehogs pick their new owner. We have witnessed a complete personality change when a hedgehog does or doesn't likesomeone and we honor their feelings.
